Gravel bike route

After leaving the Riccione seafront, we ride through the Romagna countryside, along the dirt trails flanking the Conca river as far as Morciano di Romagna. Here the climb begins: first, we cross the boundary with the Marches region and ride into Tavoleto. We then continue towards Valle Avellana, amidst the picturesque landscapes of the Montefeltro hills of the Marches. The road then drops steeply down to the valley of the river Foglia before regaining altitude and continuing for about 45 kilometres of up and down stretches through the woods and unspoilt nature of the Upper Metauro Valley to Urbino. After riding down to Borgo Massano, we tackle the final climb: a six kilometre stretch with no excessively steep sections. We are rewarded with the evocative landscapes which surround the town of Mondaino and its Malatesta Fortress. At this point, we ride back down into the Ventena valley, before again reaching the Conca Valley and, finally, the Riccione seafront.
